The Mental Health Education Center of Central South University is one of the top ten demonstration centers in China. Since its inception, we have been committed to helping and accompanying all those who come to seek help, and sharing the confusion, sadness and frustration with everyone.

The psychological education center also provides psychological counseling for international students. It is our initial intention and mission to listen to the voice of listener, share the sadness and happiness, and help all those who seek help find a more perfect self.

The Mental Health Education Center of Central South University was established in 2004, and has been rated as the national advanced unit of mental health education for college students many times. In 2015, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to build the National University Mental Health Education and Counseling Demonstration Center. It is one of the first batch of 10 demonstration centers in China. In 2016, the center was approved by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education to build a model school for improving the psychological quality of college students in Hunan Province.

The main tasks of the Psychology Center include the development of multi-channel psychological counseling services, the teaching of mental health quality courses, the development of mental health education activities, the construction of student peer psychological mutual assistance teams, the prevention and intervention of student psychological crises, and the training of psychological education skills for counselors, group counseling and quality development, general psychological tests for freshmen and other groups, etc.

There are five sub-centers with complete functions and facilities in the new campus, the main campus, the south campus, the Xiangya campus and the railway campus. The mental health education center covers an area of 1,700 square meters, with nearly 3,000 consultation visits per year. The center also has an outdoor psychological development training base of nearly 2,000 square meters. The center is open to students all day, including weekends and evenings, except for national holidays and summer and winter holidays. At present, there are 12 full-time psychologists, 44 part-time counselors and more than 100 development trainers in the center, and they try their best to provide help to students in all campuses. For student consultation, please make an appointment in advance. At present, the main ways to make an appointment are:

1. Appointment at the front desk: The visitor himself or his client fills out an appointment form in the reception room of the campus psychology center and applies for an appointment.

3. Precautions for appointment:

(1) In principle, the consultation time is 50 minutes each time. The visiting students are requested to abide by the agreed time and visit on time.

(2) If you are late, the consultation time will not be postponed.

(3) If you are late for more than 20 minutes, the appointment will be cancelled and please make another appointment.

(4) If you are unable to come to the consultation for some reason, please call the appointment phone in advance to notify us, cancel the appointment, so as to leave time for other students in need.
